Your journal entries are private and belong only to you. We do not read, sell, or share your entries with anyone. Ever.
1. Who We Are
Daily Nogin™ ("we," "us," or "our") is a personal journaling application developed and operated by Daily Nogin. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at privacy@dailynogin.com.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app:
- Account information: Your name and email address when you create an account.
- Journal entries: Text, handwriting, audio recordings, video recordings, and mood check-ins you create in the app. This content is stored securely and is accessible only through your account.
- App preferences: Settings like your theme, notification preferences, and language selection.
- Usage data: Basic technical information such as app version, device type, and crash reports. This never includes the content of your entries.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Daily Nogin app
- Sync your entries securely across your devices
- Send you account-related emails (verification, password reset, important notices)
- Respond to your support requests
We do not use your journal content for advertising, AI training, analytics, or any purpose other than storing and displaying it to you.
4. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your entries requires authentication with your account credentials or biometric verification (Face ID) on your device. Your entries are your private property.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone. We may share limited data only in the following circumstances:
- Google Firebase: Used for account authentication, data storage, and cloud functions. Your entries are stored here securely and are only accessible to you.
- Resend: Used to send transactional emails such as account verification and password reset. Only your email address and first name are shared for this purpose.
- Mixpanel: We use analytics tools to understand how people use Daily Nogin so we can make it better. Only a random identifier and behavioral events (e.g. "entry created") are shared. Your name, email, and entry content are never shared.
- Sentry: Used for error and crash reporting. If the app crashes, Sentry receives technical information such as the error message and device type. Your entry content is never included in crash reports.
- RevenueCat and Apple: Used to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. Apple processes all payments. RevenueCat receives your purchase history and a random account identifier to manage subscription status.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and journal entries for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
Deleted entries are moved to Recently Deleted, where you can recover or permanently delete them at any time.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data we hold about you
- Export your journal entries at any time as PDF files
- Correct inaccurate account information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children's Privacy
Daily Nogin is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@dailynogin.com and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through a notice in the app. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.
